As the January Transfer Window slammed shut yesterday, Kaveh Solhekol at Sky Sports broke exclusive news of a last-minute transfer coup. Subject to a medical and work permit, we are delighted to confirm that Sam Stafford will be joining the LPDF, for an undisclosed fee, as Managing Director in 2025.
A Chartered Town Planner since 2002, Sam has a raft of experience across the property sector having previously worked for Barratt Homes as a regional strategic land director across the Northwest and West Midlands. In 2022 he was appointed Planning Director at the HBF working to influence national planning policy on behalf of the housebuilding industry.
Phill Bamford, Policy Director at the LPDF said “I am delighted to welcome Sam to the team at the LPDF, a name that needs no real introduction. Sam has a wealth of experience and knowledge across the sector and is very well respected within the development industry. His addition to the team will only enhance the work and reputation of the LPDF and it will allow us to pursue exciting new opportunities for the benefit of all our members and affiliates”.
Sam said “Within a relatively short period of time the LPDF has established itself as a respected focal point for sectoral activity and a key voice in the national conversation about land, planning and development matters. The opportunity to become the first Managing Director is humbling and hugely exciting and I cannot wait to join the team and to continue the work of improving the environment within which the LPDF membership operate.”
